Q: Using Asterisk and the Sangoma A102DX for my PRI, will I be able under software control to switch any given fax call to the A4000?

A: Yes, thats what you will use asterisk for, you can have a fax directed to your fax machine. You have two methods to have asterisk deal with a fax. One is to use faxdetect. Or: use DID to have asterisk route the fax.

Q: Could that be in a different server?

A: No, you have to have them on the same system, right beside each other. You need a way to sync the PRI card, with the A400.

Q: Does the Sangoma analog hardware come with a loadable Asterisk app that handles the passthrough”?

A: There is no app, asterisk will take care of everything. See the Diagram below.

So as you can see all routing will be done by asterisk just like a normal phone call.
